Showjumping: the sport of elegance and precision
Showjumping is one of the most popular branches of equestrian sport, where horse and rider are tested together on an obstacle course. The sport demands not only skill and power but also teamwork, trust and harmony. No wonder it draws more and more people, as spectators and as active competitors.
In showjumping, riders and their horses must complete a course of obstacles in a defined order — fences of varying heights and widths. The goal is for the horse to clear every fence cleanly, without faults, in the shortest possible time.
Our students do well at regional competitions. Showjumping calls for technical skill and a close partnership between horse and rider — without mutual trust, success is unthinkable.
To start showjumping you need a foundation in riding and a suitable, well-schooled horse. Beginners learn jumping technique and the basic rules with the help of an experienced coach. As training progresses the height and complexity of the obstacles grow.
